Hoverboard troubleshooting

My board is beeping, unbalanced, leaning, spinning, spinning, vibrating, or experiencing other issues with movement

If your board is not moving, unbalanced, leaning, vibrating, or not turning properly, just reset the calibration on your board. The instructions may vary slightly by model.

More than one calibration may be necessary to properly reset the board.

If your board is App-Enabled, vibration, even after calibration, can happen in "intermediate" or "expert" mode, because the vibration is indicating that too much pressure is being applied.  These modes are much more sensitive than "beginner" mode and require less pressure on the sensors.

We recommend getting used to the board in "beginner" mode and then changing to intermediate or expert in a week or two, when you have a better feel for the board.  You'll be surprised how little input your board needs, to respond to the pressure on the sensors.

My hoverboard is not charging

First, answer this question: What color is the light on the charger when plugged into the wall, but not yet plugged into the scooter?

Light on the charger is green

On the charger itself, there is a small indicator light which will reflect the charge status. Once the charger is plugged into an outlet, the light on the charger should be green. When the charger is then attached to your scooter, the indicator light on the charger should now change to red. Upon completion of a full charge, the light on the charger will then change back to green.  Please let us know if the light on the charger itself, remains green, or turns red, or disappears when plugged into the scooter.

What color is the light on the charger when plugged in to the wall and the hoverboard?

The light remains green when plugged in.

If your board is not charging and the battery light remains green when plugged into the wall and the charger, this is indicative of a faulty motherboard.

DUE TO CURRENT COVID-19 SUPPLY CHAIN AND LOGISTICS CONDITIONS, WE RECOMMEND RETURN/EXCHANGE AT THE PLACE OF PURCHASE

The light changes from green to red when plugged in.

A red light on the charger indicates that the board is charging.  The light will automatically change to green once a full charge has been completed.  Please consult your product manual for more information on charge time.

There is no light on my charger at all.

If the indicator light on your charger is green when plugged into the wall and turns off when plugged into the board, our technicians will ask for some additional information to diagnose the issue.  Please submit a ticket so we can get your initial information and get to helping you right away.

The throttle is sticking

1. Use a 2.5 mm Allen wrench to loosen the Allen screw recessed underneath the throttle thumb lever as shown.

2) Loosen it far enough that the throttle can move on the handlebar then re-tighten just enough to keep the throttle from moving easily, no tighter.

3) A small amount of WD 40 or similar light lube can be placed into the plastic housing through the screw hole in the thumb lever when the throttle is partially activated. Do not over lubricate. Use a small amount in the hole in the thumb lever.

My scooter is on and charged, but the motor is not engaging

The motor will not engage until the scooter has reached a speed of 2mph, which is equivalent to a good kick/push start. It will not engage from a standstill or very low speeds.

How to change speed modes

To change between speed levels, tap the power button once. The screen should show a "1" or "2", indicating what level you are currently in.

How to operate the headlight

To turn the headlight on or off, please press the power button twice within one second.

How to operate cruise control

To activate cruise control, you must hold the throttle at a constant speed above 3mph for 5 seconds. For example, if you want to activate cruise control at 10mph, hold the throttle at 10 mph for 5 seconds. You will hear a beep and the cruise control indicator will light up on the LCD display indicating that it is activated.

Cruise control on the scooter can be turned off by gently touching the brake throttle.
